the architecture of rest
Restorative Yoga

A 90-minute Restorative Class devoted to the art and architecture of rest.
Rest is not collapse. It is construction. In this practice, we will use the body as a container — a deliberately organised structure designed to hold our inner experience. Through intelligently supported restorative shapes and guided breathwork, you will explore how alignment creates space, how space supports function, and how function allows us to live well.
Rooted in Katonah Yoga® theory, this class approaches rest as skill in action. We will consider the body in time and space, using shape, imagination, and orientation to recalibrate the nervous system.
You will be guided to:
Use props with precision to facilitate constructive rest
Experience the body as a vessel that can be filled, emptied, and refined
Organise your interior landscape to support clarity and resilience
Immerse in breath as a practical tool for regulation and renewal
This is a practice of steadiness. Of discernment. Of allowing support to do its work.
When the structure is sound, energy can circulate.
When energy circulates, we function better — on the mat and in life.
