I’M VALERIE

My teaching is a thoughtful curation of well-aligned asana, breathwork, and meditation to cultivate stability, competency, resilience, discernment and imagination. It is an embodied practice for real people living real lives.

HOW I GOT HERE

I found yoga more than 17 years ago, when I was disconnected from my body and lived entirely in my head. Yoga became a self-regulatory framework that transformed my life, offering me a way back to myself. I completed my first teacher training over 12 years ago while working as a lawyer. I soon realized the legal profession was not for me, and I began teaching yoga full-time.

What I teach and why I teach have been shaped by continued study, the cycles and rhythms of life, and my journey into motherhood. My teaching style weaves together all that I have learned over the years and is most deeply influenced by the theory and practice of Katonah Yoga.

I live in Cork City with my husband, three children and my dog. I offer therapeutic private sessions, group studio classes & workshops.

    Beyond the yoga mat, I hold a Degree in Law from University College Cork and a Masters in Law from Trinity College Dublin and I am a qualified Solicitor.
